We sat down to interview Denis Dyack. Game designer and industry veteran who has worked on several popular video game titles such as Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. He is also the founder and CEO of Apocalypse Studios, which is currently developing the upcoming game Deadhaus Sonata.

It's no secret that Thanks For Playing adores Eternal Darkness, we practically quote it to ourselves once a month, over 20 years after the game was released!

In this interview, we discussed the development process behind the game, including the unique "sanity meter" mechanic and how the team created the game's immersive Lovecraftian world. He also shares insights into his career in the game industry, including his work on other projects like Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. For anyone interested in game development or the history of horror games, this interview with Denis Dyack is a must-watch.

“Come check out Deadhaus Sonata. If you're missing that voice that's been lost in deep narrative storytelling.”

Deadhaus Sonata is a game we're excited to dig our teeth into. And it was awesome to hear Denis's enthusiasm for all of the unique ideas his team, Apocolypse Studios is bringing to the table.

"Dead House Sonata is a narrative driven action adventure where you play the undead fighting the living, so you're playing vampires, revenants, ghouls, race banshees, all in a world where it is so grim you're better off being dead than alive."
