The Hogwarts Legacy "Whites Only" Mod

Yup, someone actually created this mod.

A very small Youtuber named KOOL DADDY FRESH has made a recent video about the "No Diversity Mod" of Hogwarts Legacy. KOOL DADDY FRESH did not create the mod, but downloaded it and provided screenshots of some of the refaced characters.

Claiming that the mod was created in China but downloaded off a "Russian website," Kool Daddy Fresh goes on for a 27 minute video speaking about the diversity in the new video game. Then went on a rant touching on virtue signaling and censorship. The original thread to download the mod has been taken down.

The Youtuber continued to go on putting down identity politics,"forced" diversity in video games, and ranted about how the media spreads hate to every generation.

Some of the comments on the video go on to criticize the diversity in the new Hogwarts Legacy game by stating that many of the characters would not be accurate given the historical place and time.

A popular thread on reddit was created on the r/HarryPotterGame subreddit where many users commented on the lack of light skin/pale skin options.

Some mods have come out that have allowed players to change the skin tone of their playable character, allowing for lighter and darker skin tones.

Seeing this sort of discourse for games is nothing new. But with something as high profile as the new AAA Harry Potter game, we will definitely be seeing more of it in the near future.
